According to Sensor Tower store intelligence data, in August 2020, Douyin and the overseas version of TikTok attracted more than 88.1 million US dollars in global App Store and Google Play, 6.3 times that of August last year, and once again topped the global mobile app (non-game) revenue list. Among them, about 85% of revenue comes from the Chinese version of Douyin; the US market ranked second, contributing 7.8% of revenue; and the Turkish market ranked third, accounting for 1.4%. YouTube ranked second on the list with revenue of over $83.9 million, an increase of 54.8% over the same period last year. US users contributed 55% of revenue, followed by Japanese users, accounting for 13%.
The other three apps in the top five on the list are Tinder, Tencent Video, and Piccoma.
