On August 11, the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the domestic smartphone market analysis report for July 2020. Data shows that in July 2020, the total number of units shipped in the domestic mobile phone market was 22.301,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 34.8%; in January-July, the total number of domestic mobile phone market shipments totaled 175 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 20.4%.

In July 2020, 13.911 million 5G mobile phones were shipped in the domestic market, accounting for 62.4% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; 14 new models were launched, accounting for 35.0% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period. In January-July, 77.508 million 5G phones were shipped in the domestic market, and 119 new models were launched, accounting for 44.2% and 46.5% respectively.

In July 2020, domestic brand phones were shipped 207.24 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 35.1%, accounting for 92.9% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; 36 new models were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 16.3%, accounting for 90.0% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period. In January-July, domestic brand mobile phones were shipped a total of 160 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 21.7%, accounting for 91.2% of mobile phone shipments during the same period; a total of 234 new models were launched, a year-on-year decrease of 11.4%, accounting for 91.4% of the number of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.
