In terms of news, NVIDIA announced multi-year strategic partnerships with two leading companies in the optoelectronic communication field, Lumentum and Coherent, investing USD 2 billion in each company, totaling USD 4 billion to enhance advanced optical technology research and manufacturing. Open Source Securities believes that this move reaffirms that optoelectronic communication technology may become a core technology for future AIDC interconnection, emphasizing significant opportunities in technological upgrades such as silicon photonics, CPO, OCS, hollow-core fiber, and thin-film lithium niobate.
China Galaxy Securities pointed out that the prosperity of optical modules is still on an upward trajectory. Overseas markets currently show high activity, with mainstream cloud vendors' capital expenditure projected to exceed expectations continuously through 2026. The improvement in GPU performance drives a clear trend toward higher optical module rates overseas, and the growth pace of high-rate, high-value optical modules is expected to accelerate. Meanwhile, the long-term trend of transitioning from copper to optical on the scale-up side is gradually solidifying, driving further increases in both the volume and demand for optical modules.
