Data released by Tongcheng Travel shows that, as of yesterday (March 4), the search and booking interest for hotels and scenic spot tickets on the platform has declined compared to the peak during the Spring Festival. However, there is still more than a 10% increase compared to the same period last year. The search volume for some popular attractions has surged by 2.6 times compared to before the Spring Festival, reflecting an off-season with robust activity. This trend is mainly driven by free admission policies at multiple scenic spots and promotions tied to International Women's Day.
The data indicates that over the past week, the search volume for keywords such as "free admission to scenic spots" and "off-peak travel" has increased by 358% week-on-week. The popularity of free admission sites like Mount Lu, Yuntai Mountain, and Shenyang Imperial Palace has skyrocketed. With International Women's Day approaching, this has boosted the travel market. Attractions such as Mount Huangshan and Jiuzhaigou are offering free admission to women, driving a more than 1.8-fold weekly increase in search volumes for related attractions. The booking interest for travel products this weekend has risen by over 65% compared to the previous weekend.
