In the early days of the epidemic, Wuhan was closed down, and medical supplies were urgent. On the evening of January 31, JD received an urgent request from Academician Zhong Nanshan's team to find a way to ship a batch of oxygen concentrators that were in short supply in hospitals to Wuhan. For patients, oxygen concentrators play an important role in relieving the condition. JD Logistics responded quickly. It took only one day to voluntarily deliver 100 oxygen concentrators from Guangzhou to Wuhan Hankou Hospital using railway intermodal transportation.

After learning about it, Academician Zhong Nanshan wrote a letter thanking him, “Thank you to JD for caring about the frontline of medical aid and delivering urgently needed medical supplies to Wuhan as quickly as possible.”

It is difficult to support from all sides! In this war against the epidemic, JD Logistics overcame all difficulties and opened free material transportation channels. In the first quarter alone, it carried more than 70 million pieces and 30,000 tons of medical emergency supplies, while also delivering more than 10,000 tons of emergency medical supplies and living supplies from around the world to Hubei.

“Wuhan Anti-epidemic Chronicles” by JD Logistics' driverless cars

JD Logistics is fully participating in the anti-epidemic interdiction war. “Technology to fight the epidemic” is a major highlight, especially the special “couriers” that provide contactless delivery services — unmanned delivery vehicles.

The JD40006 unmanned delivery vehicle “Dabai”, which was collected by the National Museum this time, is representative of them, and it is also the first robot to become a regular employee of JD.

As early as the first day of the new year, JD Logistics set up an intelligent technology emergency team. Relying on L4 level autonomous driving technology and the Beidou satellite positioning system, unmanned delivery vehicles were put into use on the streets of Wuhan within 10 days. Through remote deployment, the entire process of unmanned vehicle delivery is fully automated, and contactless delivery has become a major safety guarantee during the pandemic.

On February 26, CCTV's “News Broadcast” showed how the JD Logistics unmanned delivery vehicle “Dabai” delivered goods to medical staff at Wuhan No. 9 Hospital.

During the 107 days he participated in the fight against the epidemic, “Dabai” was like a real courier, always sticking to his post. The total round-trip mileage was over 6,800 kilometers, and about 13,000 packages were delivered. After “Dabai” entered the National Museum, its mission was still conveyed in Wuhan. The new unmanned delivery vehicle developed by JD Logistics and produced by JD Logistics in collaboration with Xiamen Jinlong continues to provide contactless delivery services to medical staff and consumers in Wuhan as a relay.

After the outbreak of the epidemic, the JD Group fully participated in “fighting the epidemic, protecting people's livelihood, supporting the economy, and stabilizing employment”, obligated to deliver emergency medical supplies to ensure the supply of people's livelihood in Hubei and the whole country; provided jobs flexibly to relieve employment problems; after the epidemic prevention and control situation stabilized and improved, it fully helped resume work and resume production, supported micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and promoted economic recovery.
