Singapore (Reuters)-Uber (Uber) said its Asia-Pacific headquarters would remain in Singapore until at least December 2022, suspending potential plans to relocate to Hong Kong.
The company said it had not seen enough progress in the Hong Kong government's regulation of ride-sharing to relocate its headquarters.
"We have seen strong public support for reform, but we have not received the degree of certainty we need from the government," Uber said in a statement. "while we continue to make these efforts, we have decided to continue to use Singapore as the regional centre in the medium term." (end)
