Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, stated that this Lunar New Year holiday period for mainland China is relatively long, spanning a total of nine days. It is estimated that over 14 million visitors will travel to Macao, with daily visitor numbers ranging between 158,000 and 175,000. The aim is to achieve an annual visitor volume of 41 million for this year.
She noted that one of the key priorities this year is to capitalize on the 240-hour visa-free policy via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Hengqin Port to continue attracting international visitors. In addition to further expanding traditional markets such as Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Americas, efforts will also focus on tapping into the Middle Eastern market, including countries like Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
