Reuters, July 27 - Chief Engineer Murthy Renduchintala will step down as part of a move by key technology divisions to be split into five teams, Intel (Intel) said Monday.
Intel said it is reorganizing technology, system architecture, and account teams. The new leaders of these groups will report directly to Executive Director Bob Swan.
Ann Kelleher, who has worked at Intel for 24 years, will lead the development of 7nm and 5nm chips. Intel said last week that the development of a smaller, faster 7nm chip is six months behind schedule and will have to rely more on external chip manufacturers to maintain the competitiveness of its own products.
Intel said Renduchintala will leave office on August 3. (complete)
