In the video, investigator Steve Spurasia unraveled a mask similar to that of a female netizen and introduced the patent for this metal strip to the audience. The design dates back to the 70s of the last century, long before 1G, 3G signals, and wireless devices, including smartphones, appeared.
According to the patent description, this plastic-wrapped metal strip is a device used to make the mask fit more closely to the bridge of the nose and make the mask more closed.
