$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ A new lower-priced version of the Model 3 was launched in the European market on Friday, months after it had already debuted in the U.S. market.
As automakers in Europe and China roll out more affordable electric vehicle models, Tesla has introduced the standard version of the Model 3 to help reinvigorate market demand amid intensifying competition from this trend.
According to information on Tesla's official website, the new standard Model 3 is priced at €37,970 (approximately $44,256) in Germany and SEK 449,990 (approximately $47,849) in Sweden. The current price of the model in the U.S. is $36,990.
This move follows Tesla's launch of a lower-priced Model Y crossover variant in Europe in October.
As of press time, Tesla shares were up 0.03% in pre-market trading.
