It is less than half a month since the last delivery to Sweden, on July 1, local time.BYD(Price 002594) Announced the delivery of a total of 38 pure electric buses to Norway's two core public transportation operators, Vy and Unibuss. This move has enabled BYD to deliver more than 200 buses in Northern Europe.
The world's first batch of all-electric intercity buses delivered to the west coast of Norway for “incoming calls”
On the morning of July 1, BYD delivered 15 pure electric buses to Vy, the largest bus company under the Norwegian National Railways Group, including 7 18-meter pure electric articulated buses and 8 13-meter pure electric intercity buses, which will be launched in Haugesund, a famous port city on the west coast of Norway.

BYD won orders for this bus during the 2019 Busworld (Busworld), for a total of 55 cars. The first 15 buses delivered this time are also Vy's first BYD fleet. It is worth noting that the successful delivery of the 13-meter Class II intercity bus marks BYD becoming the first Chinese brand in Europe to put a low-floor Class II model into large-scale commercial operation in the field of pure electric public transportation. This is also the first time that BYD has delivered this model globally.

In order to meet the needs of intercity operations, the battery life of this intercity bus has been significantly improved. The newly launched carbon dioxide air conditioning system can effectively reduce the vehicle's energy consumption in the low temperature environment of Northern Europe, help the vehicle obtain a longer range, and at the same time further save energy and reduce emissions, and has both economic and environmental benefits. At the same time, the car body uses a new interior and exterior design and customized color scheme, and the number of seats in the passenger area has increased markedly, meeting passenger needs to the greatest extent and improving ride comfort. In addition, BYD can provide almost all mainstream charging methods in Europe, and various charging methods can be flexibly combined to meet the diverse charging needs of operators.
“We are excited to introduce BYD buses to the Vy fleet.” Vy Bus CEO Ole Engebret Haugen mentioned, “Our goal is to become a modern zero-emission public transportThe Navigator, so that customers can enjoy green and intelligent travel services. BYD is as passionate about providingsustainableWith transportation solutions, we will work together to address climate change and provide safe and comfortable services for passengers.”

“As I mentioned at the Belgian bus show last year, this is a historic moment for BYD.” He Yipeng, general manager of BYD Europe Co., Ltd., said, “At that time, we didn't know that COVID-19 would spread in Europe, so this delivery was particularly special. We have fulfilled our promises, made every effort to provide security support for the Norwegian public transport sector, and continue to promote the development process of electrification of public transport in the country.”
The Norwegian capital was once again greened with a hint of green
On the same day, BYD delivered 23 12-meter pure electric buses to Unibuss, the largest subsidiary of the Norwegian municipal public transport group Sporveien, and plans to put them into operation on several bus routes near the capital Oslo. This is the second batch of BYD electric buses welcomed by the city after the first batch of BYD electric articulated buses entered the capital in 2018.

BYD won the order in November of last year, and in the face of the sudden outbreak, it still delivered the vehicle on time. This is also the first time that BYD has delivered a fleet of all-electric buses to Unibuss. As summer temperatures rise in Europe, BYD's industry-leading battery thermal management system will provide operators with effective guarantees to ensure stable operation in extreme weather while extending battery life. Today, BYD's all-electric buses run all over Europe, as far south as Spain and Portugal, and as far north as the Arctic Circle.
Unibuss CEO Øystein Svendsen said: “Oslo's public transport system is shifting to electrification, and Unibuss is at the cutting edge of the industry. BYD's new fleet of electric buses will greatly reduce local carbon emissions and provide safe and comfortable zero-emission transportation services for Oslo. In the future, we will consider introducing electric buses on more bus routes.”
He Yipeng added, “We see that transportation departments and operators represented by Ruter and Unibuss are leading the market towards zero-emission, electrified public transportation. I am very happy to see that our products are now well accepted by both operators and passengers, and we will continue to launch clean and sustainable public transportation solutions.”
