According to sources familiar with the matter, the agreement was finalized after lengthy negotiations that began on Tuesday. The sources, who wished to remain anonymous as details have not been made public, disclosed this information.
Dozens of world leaders will gather in Belém, a city in Brazil's Amazon region, on Thursday for two days of climate talks. Formal negotiations will commence at the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is scheduled to take place in the city on November 10.
