WhatsApp launches Apple Watch application

Meta Platforms (META.US) launched a standalone Apple Watch application on Tuesday for its popular instant messaging service WhatsApp, enabling users to chat on WhatsApp via Apple’s (AAPL.US) wearable devices without the need for an iPhone. The software includes features such as call notifications, voice message recording and sending, full message previews, and message replies.

Meta stated in a press release that WhatsApp for Apple Watch will be available on any Apple Watch Series 4 or newer models running watchOS 10 or later versions.
