The planned 5GW USA-UAE AI Datacenter will be the largest AI park outside the USA, with several American companies participating in the Operation and providing Cloud Computing Services. The White House announced that the commercial agreements include an order of 28 Boeing aircraft by Etihad Airlines amounting to $14.5 billion; a $60 billion Oil & Gas expansion project; a gallium project involving Raytheon; a $10 billion commitment investment for the Holtec nuclear reactor project; projects involving AI, Datacenter, and Industrial Internet of Things related engineering centers involving Qualcomm; and a public cloud service project participated by Amazon.
During the last stop of his trip to the Middle East this week, President Trump received a significant "gift": a signing of over $100 billion in agreements with the UAE, along with plans to build large-scale Datacenters locally.
On Thursday, May 15, Eastern Time, the White House issued a statement saying that Trump announced in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, that the USA and the UAE reached commercial agreements worth over $200 billion, thereby pushing the total commitment of investment from his Middle East trip to surpass $2 trillion. The new deal with the UAE will enhance American exporters' access to the local market, bolster the USA's economy and National Security, and significantly expand the scale of domestic capital inflow.
The White House stated that the new deal strengthens the investment and Trade relationship between the two countries, based on the $1.4 trillion investment framework set by the UAE in March of this year. This framework will help realize the USA's prosperity in AI infrastructure, Semiconductors, Energy, Quantum Computing, Biotechnology, and Manufacturing.
The US Department of Commerce announced on the same day that the UAE and the US government agreed to establish a "USA-UAE AI Accelerated Partnership" framework, to further strengthen cooperation around key technologies and ensure protection for these technologies based on a series of joint commitments. The US side will promote deeper technology cooperation with the UAE, including the initiation of a Phase 1 planned capacity of a 1GW AI Datacenter.
The aforementioned Datacenter belongs to a total planned capacity of 5GW within the USA-UAE AI park, located in Abu Dhabi, covering an area of 10 square miles. This park will be built by the UAE technology company G42 and operated jointly with several American companies.
The media believes that AI-related agreements are the core of this cooperation between the USA and UAE. The officially announced AI-related agreements will enhance the UAE's technological strength, particularly mentioning that G42 will build the largest AI Datacenter cluster in the Middle East, which is the aforementioned 5GW park.
The largest AI park outside the USA will have several American companies participating in the Operation and providing Cloud Computing Services.
The White House emphasizes that the USA-UAE AI agreement strengthens the bilateral investment partnership, ensuring America's security interests and dominance in the field of AI while extending American technology to this important strategic partner.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo stated: "In the UAE, American companies will operate datacenters and provide U.S.-managed Cloud Computing Services. The agreement also includes strong security assurances to prevent U.S. technology from being transferred."
The U.S. Department of Commerce did not disclose which American companies will participate in the construction of the aforementioned datacenter, but stated that it is the largest overseas AI park for the USA, which will host American hyperscale and large enterprises that can leverage the region's computing power to provide services to developing countries in the 'Global South', such as those in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
However, public information shows that several executives from tech companies accompanied Trump on his visit to the UAE, including NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, and Cisco President Jeetu Patel.
The USA-UAE Trade covers Aviation, Energy, AI, and Public Cloud.
