The USA is collaborating with the UAE to build an AI park with a 5 GW Datacenter, which is expected to become the largest of its kind outside the USA.
According to the press release, the park will provide low-latency services to nearly half of the Global population within a 3,200-kilometer range of the UAE.
On May 16, Financial Associated Press reported (Editor Zhao Hao) that on Thursday (May 15) local time, the USA Department of Commerce announced on its official website that the USA will collaborate with the UAE to build a 5 GW Datacenter AI park, which is expected to become the largest of its kind outside the USA.
The USA Department of Commerce wrote, "This largest AI park outside the USA will be home to super-scale computing centers and large enterprises in the USA, which can leverage its regional computing capabilities to serve Global South countries."
According to the press release, the park will build a 5 GW capacity AI Datacenter, capable of providing low-latency services to nearly half of the Global population within a 3,200-kilometer range of the UAE. After the facilities are completed, they will utilize nuclear energy, CECEP Solar Energy, and Henry Hub Natural Gas for power generation, minimizing carbon emissions.
The press release states that the Datacenter in the park will be built by the UAE AI company G42 and operated in collaboration with multiple American companies. The park covers an area of 10 square miles, and the first phase consists of a 1 GW capacity AI Datacenter.
Today, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a ceremony at the Presidential Palace with visiting USA President Trump. Just before the release, the USA Department of Commerce stated that the two countries reached an agreement on an "AI Acceleration Partnership Framework."
UAE President Mohammed stated, "The park embodies the UAE's commitment to exploring innovation and promoting global cooperation in the field of AI, strengthening the UAE's position as a hub for cutting-edge research and sustainable development, and bringing transformative benefits to humanity."
USA Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo wrote, "Today's agreement will drive significant investments in advanced Semiconductors and Datacenters between the USA and UAE. In the UAE, USA companies will operate Datacenters and provide Cloud Computing Services managed by the USA across the region."
Earlier this week, reports stated that the USA had reached a preliminary agreement with the UAE to allow the latter to import 0.5 million advanced chips annually starting in 2025.$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$In exchange, the UAE has committed to invest $1.4 trillion in the USA over the next decade.
