The CLP HOLDINGS headquarters building in the Kai Tak New Development Area was completed and put into use yesterday (28th), with Sir Michael Kadoorie, Chairman of CLP HOLDINGS (00002.HK), presiding over the inauguration ceremony. The new headquarters is adjacent to the Kai Tak Sports Park, stands ten stories tall, and can provide a flexible working environment for about 1,000 employees, implementing the group's commitment to sustainable development.
The building uses highly efficient water-saving devices, resulting in indoor water usage that is over 50% lower than the Energy and Environmental Design Leadership rating (LEED) standard. The new headquarters extensively employs high-performance Glass curtain walls, carbon-negative carpets made from recycled materials, and other Eco-friendly Concept building materials, with carbon emissions 25% lower than the standards set by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department's building energy efficiency code.
