On the 27th, Beijing time, the Singapore government announced that those who did not comply with social isolation measures during the COVID-19 pandemic will be severely fined and imprisoned.

According to new regulations issued by Singapore's Ministry of Health on Thursday night, people who do not observe a physical distance of one meter can be fined 10,000 Singapore dollars (about 49,500 yuan) or imprisoned for up to 6 months, or a combination of the two penalties.

The regulation will take effect on the 27th until April 30th.

In addition, the same penalties will be imposed on those who violate quarantine regulations: all those entering from overseas from March 20 must be quarantined for 14 days, and those entering from the United Kingdom and the US will be required to be centrally quarantined for 14 days. Furthermore, all those diagnosed with acute respiratory symptoms by a doctor will be issued 5 days of sick leave. If there is no reasonable reason, they must stay at home and not go out for 5 days. The regulation came into effect on March 25.
