New World Development (01686.HK) has begun the second phase of construction for the MEGA IDC in Tseung Kwan O, with a total investment exceeding 15 billion yuan.

Yesterday (27th), the new data center MEGA IDC Phase II project of Sino Land (00016.HK) subsidiary New World Development (01686.HK) was launched in Tseung Kwan O, covering approximately 0.35 million square feet, expected to be completed by 2027.

Sino Land Chairman and Managing Director, as well as New World Development Chairman, Guo Bingjuan stated that the project is divided into three phases, with a total investment of over 15 billion yuan. Once fully completed, the total floor area will reach 1.2 million square feet, with an electrical capacity of 180MW, making it the largest data center in Hong Kong in terms of electrical capacity. The first phase was already operational last year, providing approximately 0.5 million square feet of total floor area and 50MW of electrical capacity, attracting several major cloud service providers and international Banks; the current occupancy rate is over 30%.
