Data released by the Ministry of Trade and Telecommunications showed that in the first two months of this year, revenue from telecommunications operations totaled RMB295 billion, up 0.9% year-on-year. Total telecommunications business grew 7.6% year-on-year. As of the end of February, the total number of fixed Internet broadband users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 0.675 billion, a net increase of 4.936 million from the end of last year. Of these, fixed Internet broadband access users with access rates of 1000Mbps and above reached 0.214 billion, accounting for more than three percent of total users. The total number of mobile phone users in the Mainland reached 1.793 billion, a net increase of 3.273 million from the end of last year. Cumulative mobile Internet traffic reached 55.39 billion GB, an increase of 13.6% year on year.

In addition, as of the end of February, the total number of 5G bases in the Mainland amounted to 4.325 million, an increase of 0.074 million compared to the end of the previous year, representing 34.1% of the total number of mobile bases, an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to the end of the previous year.
