According to the Zhitong Finance APP, POWER ASSETS (00006) announced its 2024 performance, with revenue of 0.919 billion HKD, a decrease of 28.87% year-on-year; net profit of 6.119 billion HKD, an increase of 1.93% year-on-year; earnings per share of 2.87 HKD, proposing a final dividend of 2.04 HKD per share.
In terms of business expansion, the company completed several acquisition projects during the year. Through the acquisition of Phoenix Energy and UK Renewables Energy (formerly known as Aviva Wind), a strategic partnership was deepened with CK Infrastructure and Cheung Kong Holdings. Phoenix Energy has the largest gas distribution network in Northern Ireland and operates under a regulatory framework that aids business operations. UK Renewables Energy owns 32 wind power plants located in England, Scotland, and Wales. POWER ASSETS holds a 20% stake in both projects, continuing the group's strong performance in cooperation with CK Infrastructure and Cheung Kong Holdings.
UK Power Networks (UKPN), a subsidiary of the group, also successfully acquired Powerlink Renewable Assets. The company owns and operates 70 renewable energy generation facilities in the United Kingdom.
The United Kingdom is the largest market for the group, with local business contributing a total profit of HKD 3.199 billion in 2024 (2023: HKD 2.794 billion). During the period, new acquisition projects opened up new sources of revenue for the group.
