Ten days ago, the Nikkei average stock price rose by 208.68 yen to 37,095.85 yen compared to the previous weekend, and the TOPIX (Tokyo Stock Price Index) also rebounded by 5.95 points to 2,714.54 points. The Nikkei average reached 37,113.48 yen, up 226.31 yen, at 11:25 AM. On the 7th local time, U.S. stocks rebounded as comments from Federal Reserve (FRB) Chairman Powell indicated that "uncertainty is increasing, but the U.S. economy continues to be strong." Japanese stocks followed this trend and buying activity was prioritized. Although there were moments of downward turns due to lackluster market conditions, the foreign exchange market's support of a weaker yen, with the dollar-yen exchange rate in the mid-147 yen range (the previous weekend was 147.67-68 yen), seemed to lead to a solid price movement led by export stocks such as automobile stocks.
The volume on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Main Board reached 782.5 million shares, with a trading value of 1.9337 trillion yen. The number of rising stocks was 944, declining stocks were 624, and there were 69 stocks unchanged.
