By industry, out of a total of 33 sectors, 23 sectors rose while 10 sectors fell. Mining stocks such as INPEX <1605.T> and Oil Resources <1662.T>, as well as rubber product stocks like Hamagomu <5101.T> and Bridgestone <5108.T>, saw increases. Metal product stocks like SUMCO <3436.T> and Sanwa HD <5929.T>, along with Oil & Coal Products stocks like Idemitsu Kosan <5019.T> and Cosmo Energy Holdings <5021.T>, also rose. Transportation stocks such as JR East <9020.T> and JR Central <9022.T>, along with wholesale stocks like Itochu <8001.T> and Mitsubishi Corp <8058.T>, performed well. Additionally, fisheries and agriculture stocks like Nissui <1332.T> and Maruha Nichiro <1333.T>, as well as precision instrument stocks like Olympus <7733.T> and HOYA <7741.T>, remained solid. On the other hand, Other Products stocks like Bandai Namco <7832.T> and NINTENDO CO LTD <7974.T>, along with Marine Shipping stocks like NYK Line <9101.T> and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines <9104.T>, were lower.
Individually, stocks such as Nichiju <2353.T>, Osaka Titanium <5726.T>, Kuni Titanium <5727.T>, Nichihyum <5262.T>, and SRE HD <2980.T> increased. Conversely, stocks like Ailu <3854.T>, Ryohin Keikaku <7453.T>, gumi <3903.T>, Sanrio <8136.T>, and Tadano <6395.T> declined.
In the Tokyo Foreign Exchange market, as of 10:14 AM, the dollar-yen exchange rate is trading at around 147 yen per dollar (147.67-68 yen on the previous weekend, the 7th), and the euro-yen exchange rate is trading at around 160 yen per euro (159.92-96 yen on the same day).
