Among them, the number of visitors entering through the “one trip per week” and “one visa and multiple travel” methods recorded 111,698 and 25,933, respectively; in addition, a total of 13,398 visitors entered through the “group entry and exit” method. The number of visitors from the nine Pearl River Delta cities in the Greater Bay Area increased by 37.9% to 1,414,199. Visitors from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (577,983) and Taiwan (77,163) increased by 5.8% and 28.8%, respectively.

The total number of international visitors in January was 241,131, an increase of 21% over the previous year. In the Southeast Asian market, visitors from the Philippines (48,499), Indonesia (21,579) and Malaysia (11,982) increased by 42.2%, 54.6% and 9%, respectively, while visitors from Thailand (9,992) and Singapore (7,874) decreased by 26.6% and 11.3%. Visitors from South Asia from India (6,648) decreased by 2.2% year-on-year, while visitors from South Korea (65,659) and Japan (12,029) from Northeast Asia increased by 29.9% and 13%, respectively. The number of long-haul visitors to the US (12,367) recorded a 13.2% year-on-year increase.

According to entry channel statistics, the number of visitors entering by land (2,987,663, accounting for 81.9% of the total), sea (385,015, accounting for 10.6%), and air (273,883, accounting for 7.5%) increased by 31.9%, 9.2% and 12.3%, respectively, in January.
