Dawn Inc. announced on the 9th the provision of the video reporting service "Live118," which the Japan Coast Guard will start operating from January 18.
"Live118" is a system that allows reporters to capture footage of the scene with a Smart Phone and share it in real-time with the Japan Coast Guard's command center.
This enables rapid transmission of detailed situations of maritime accidents, which were difficult to grasp with conventional voice reports, and is expected to improve the efficiency of search and rescue operations.
Reporters can start filming by accessing the URL in the SMS sent by the Japan Coast Guard and agreeing to the terms. There is no need to download a dedicated app in advance, and it can be used with simple operations.
Dawn developed "Live118" by applying the technology of the video reporting system "Live119" that is provided for fire departments nationwide. Similar systems are expected to be utilized in various situations including government agencies and private companies.
Dawn provides cloud applications utilizing the technology cultivated in the Geographic Information System (GIS) business to realize the advancement of operations such as police, fire, local disaster prevention, and social infrastructure preservation.
The company plans to continue contributing to the realization of a safe and secure society through the "visualization solution for reporting."
