American Electric Power (AEP.US) has agreed to sell a stake in its transmission business to strategic partners KKR and PSP Investments.
According to a news release published on Thursday, the partnership will acquire 19.9% of American Electric Power's transmission company in Ohio and Indiana for $2.8 billion.
According to its website, American Electric Power's transmission system has 0.064 million kilometers of power lines, making it the largest power transmission system in the United States.
