At the recently concluded CES 2025 Consumer Electronics Show, NVIDIA announced a series of important products, among which the most notable is Project Digits—this AI supercomputer may imply NVIDIA's ambition to officially enter the PC market.

Considering that NVIDIA has conquered the AI Datacenter market with excellent design and performance over the past two years, it is widely believed in the industry that NVIDIA has the capability to achieve similar success in the computer market. Analysts also state that NVIDIA is expected to challenge Intel and AMD's dominance in the PC processor space in the future.

Project Digits is NVIDIA's first desktop product, featuring the latest GB10 Grace Blackwell super chip, which integrates an Arm architecture-based CPU and GPU, providing AI computing performance of up to 1 petaflop (one quadrillion floating-point operations per second).

NVIDIA announced that Project Digits is scheduled to be launched this May, with a starting price of $3000.

Although Digits appears to be a niche product mainly targeting high-end engineers, analysis suggests that the compact size and desktop positioning of Project Digits indicate that this is likely NVIDIA's attempt to enter the PC market.

Notably, Project Digits utilizes MediaTek's low-power chip technology from Taiwan, laying the foundation for NVIDIA to develop consumer-grade laptop processors in the future.

Additionally, during the Q&A session at the conference, Jensen Huang hinted that NVIDIA does indeed have plans to enter the PC market—when directly asked whether NVIDIA would enter the PC market, Jensen Huang evaded the question but stated, "Obviously, we have plans."

Furthermore, analysts pointed out that from a financial perspective, the PC market presents a tremendous appeal for NVIDIA. According to FactSet, analysts predict that Intel's client computing revenue will reach $30 billion in 2024, while AMD's revenue in the client segment is expected to be $6.7 billion. In contrast, NVIDIA's total revenue for the 12 months ending January 2025 is projected to be $129 billion—clearly, entering the PC market could bring NVIDIA potential new revenues in the hundreds of billions.
