According to reports from the domestic media "The Paper", the situation of anti-corruption in CSI China Mainland Financials Index continues, with at least 97 people investigated in the financial sector last year, comparable to 2023. Among the 97 individuals investigated, 3 were central management cadres, 76 were central-level party and national agency, state-owned enterprises, and financial unit caders, and 18 were provincial management cadres. Out of the 97 investigated, 63 were from Banks, 15 from regulatory institutions, 9 from Insurance institutions, 4 from financial control groups, 3 from re-insurance groups, and 3 from securities institutions.
The report mentioned that state-owned Banks were one of the key targets of investigation last year, with a total of 36 people being investigated. Among them, China Construction Bank Corporation (00939.HK) had the highest number, with 10 people, including Vice President Zhang Gengsheng. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (01398.HK), Bank Of China (03988.HK), and Agricultural Bank of China (01288.HK) each had 7 people investigated, while Shanghai Commercial Bank (03328.HK) and Postal Savings Bank Of China (01658.HK) had 2 and 3 people investigated respectively.
