Alibaba (09988.HK)(BABA.US) subsidiary Amap announced the completion of the upgrade for the 'Traffic Light Countdown' feature in Hong Kong, successfully covering nearly 90% of traffic light intersections in Hong Kong, with daily countdowns exceeding 0.65 million times.

Amap first launched the 'Traffic Light Countdown' feature in 2022, and it has now been implemented in more than 360 cities in mainland China. Amap stated that through computational power to 'predict' seconds-level changes in traffic light countdowns, this service can be applied not only for drivers but also during the ride-hailing process, and will continue to promote the application of intelligent transportation technology in the future to provide citizens with a more efficient travel experience.
