The Ministry of Finance has announced updated retail fuel prices for the week of Jan 9 to Jan 15, 2025, in line with global crude oil price trends.
The retail price of RON97 petrol has been increased by 5 sen to RM3.33 per litre, up from RM3.28 per litre. Meanwhile, the retail price of RON95 petrol remains unchanged at RM2.05 per litre.
For diesel, the price in Peninsular Malaysia has been raised by 5 sen to RM3.03 per litre, compared to RM2.98 per litre previously.
However, the diesel price in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan remains steady at RM2.15 per litre.
The Ministry noted that the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia continues to be lower than the RM3.35 per litre recorded when the floating price mechanism was first implemented on 10 June 2024.
The pricing adjustments are determined through the weekly Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula.
The Government reiterated its commitment to closely monitor global oil market trends and take necessary actions to ensure price stability and safeguard the well-being of the public.
