General Motors Powers Up Diplomatic Security: Suburban Shield Heads To Qatar

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) shares are trading slightly lower on Tuesday in the morning session.

According to Benzinga Pro, GM stock has gained 44% in the past year. Investors can gain exposure to the stock via iShares Trust iShares U.S. Manufacturing ETF (NYSE:MADE).

Today, GM Defense is making significant strides with its next-generation Suburban Shield armored vehicle. The Suburban Shield, which is designed for diplomatic security and VIP transport, will be delivered to the Qatar Armed Forces and Special Forces Command.

Based on General Motors' full-size truck and SUV platform, the vehicle incorporates advanced technologies and a unique chassis designed to meet the high-performance requirements of armored vehicles.

Unlike traditional after-market armor solutions, GM Defense integrates protective features into the original design, ensuring high levels of reliability, safety, and performance.

"We're proud to offer this capability to the Qatar Armed Forces that will help replace their legacy platforms," said Bradley Watters, vice president of international business development for GM Defense.

Additionally, GM Defense provides customized versions of the Suburban Shield to the U.S. Department of State's Diplomatic Security Service for its armored SUV program.

Price Action: GM shares are trading higher by 1.66% to $52.64 at last check Tuesday.
