Dell Technologies (DELL.US) announced on Monday that it plans to rename its personal computer brand in a manner similar to Apple's (AAPL.US) naming convention to stimulate demand.
The company stated that established personal computer product names such as 'XPS' and 'Inspiron,' which have been around for decades, will be phased out in favor of simplifying brand names in the next generation of devices, centered around the term 'Dell.' Most of the company's new personal computers will currently be divided into three tiers: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max.
