Pony.ai (PONY.US) announced that the Hong Kong Airport Authority recently showcased a variety of Self-Driving Cars, most of which have already been or will soon be put into operation at the airport. Pony.ai's sixth generation Self-Driving Robotaxi was invited for the demonstration.
For Pony.ai, entering Hong Kong International Airport is the starting point and foundation for entering the entire Hong Kong market, which can further demonstrate the Self-Driving Cars' capabilities in adhering to left-hand traffic rules in a highly complex environment. Pony.ai plans to provide Robotaxi commuting services for airport staff and use this as an opportunity to gradually expand Robotaxi travel services to urban areas in Hong Kong.
In the future, Pony.ai's autonomous driving demonstration application vehicles will freely shuttle across multiple mutual recognition locations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, achieving cross-city autonomous driving travel services at major locations such as airports and High-speed Rail stations, providing local residents with a safe, reliable, and convenient autonomous driving travel experience.
