The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (00388.HK) gender diversity board regulations have been effective since this year. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange announced that as of the end of last December, 85 listed companies in Hong Kong had no female directors on their boards, most of which are temporarily deviating from the regulations, and an additional 15 companies are under long-term suspension. Excluding the above, only 12 companies have never complied with the gender diversity director regulations, and these companies have also largely explained the reasons through announcements, as well as their subsequent plans and timelines.
As of the end of last year, nearly 97% of about 2,650 listed companies had complied with the relevant regulations, with more than 40% of these companies having more than one female director.
