Ningbo Ronbay New Energy Technology mainly engages in the research, development, production, and sales of diversified materials, manganese iron lithium materials, Sodium-ion Batteries materials, and diversified precursors, and the company has laid out in multiple fields including Sodium-ion Batteries, manganese iron lithium, and Solid State Batteries.
At the Earnings Conference, the secretary of the Board of Directors of Ningbo Ronbay New Energy Technology, Yu Jiyun, stated that in the first three quarters of this year, the company’s manganese iron lithium products saw shipments grow over 100% year-on-year, maintaining the number one market share in the Industry. At the same time, the company's manganese iron lithium products hold a first supplier position among multiple clients and have received order demands for thousands of Autos from leading power Battery companies.
"The company has the capacity to produce 0.01 million tons of manganese iron lithium annually, and the South Korea factory is planning 0.02 million tons/year of phosphate capacity. Currently, the low-cost, high-performance second-generation products have overcome technical bottlenecks, achieving long cycle life while further reducing costs to meet the pure use requirements of power Battery, and have already obtained designated orders for Commercial Vehicles from leading companies, with the potential to become the material with the lowest watt-hour cost in the Cathode Material field after scaling production," Yu Jiyun stated.
Regarding Sodium-ion Batteries, Yu Jiyun stated that the company's various power and energy storage products have been positioned and continuously delivered in small quantities to leading clients both domestically and abroad, and the next generation 180Wh/kg system has completed initial technical reserves. Among them, the company's products in the layered oxide direction have been applied in multiple downstream fields such as power and energy storage; in the third quarter, breakthroughs were made in key performance aspects such as the compaction and capacity of polycationic materials, leading peers in the Industry.
Yu Jiyun stated, "The company's self-developed integrated production process for Sodium-ion Battery materials has passed certification by mainstream domestic and international clients, and recently has signed a bulk purchase agreement for Sodium-ion Battery cathode materials with well-known companies in the industry. It is expected to scale production next year."
Regarding Solid State Batteries, it is reported that Ningbo Ronbay New Energy Technology is conducting full-platform research and development in the field of Solid State Batteries, including Solid State Battery cathodes, solid state battery electrolytes, and key raw materials for electrolytes.
Among them, ultra-high nickel ternary cathode materials and sulfide electrolyte materials for all-solid-state batteries have also been certified by multiple domestic and international clients. The ionic conductivity and air stability of the sulfide electrolyte are excellent, and preparations for all-solid-state soft pack batteries with Ah level capacity density have begun, exhibiting exceptional energy density.
In terms of specific customer progress, the company has established cooperation with over 40 domestic and international battery and vehicle companies in the field of Solid State Batteries, including Qingtao, Contemporary Amperex Technology, and Weilan New Energy, as well as battery and vehicle companies in South Korea, Japan, and Europe, along with several national key research projects. Among them, battery products compatible with semi-solid state battery cathode materials have been applied to end customers' models with an ultra-long range of 1000 kilometers, and the ternary cathode materials for all-solid-state batteries have received full recognition from leading clients in the industry, leading to stable growth in shipments in 2024.
Regarding new application scenarios, Yu Jiyun, secretary of the Board of Directors of Ningbo Ronbay New Energy Technology, stated that the low-altitude economy is more suited for high-power, high-energy density battery products. "With the rising demand for high-energy density products in the low-altitude flight sector, the sales of our high nickel and ultra-high nickel 9 series products are also continuously increasing."
In the field of humanoid robotics, it was stated that the high nickel and ultra-high nickel polycrystalline and monocrystalline ternary cathode materials developed by the company are at an internationally leading level and can be adapted to fields that require high energy density, with collaboration with downstream clients progressing.
Regarding overseas markets, Yu Jiyun stated that in the first three quarters, the company has cumulatively shipped nearly 0.015 million tons to clients in Europe and America, Japan, and South Korea, with shipments of ultra-high nickel materials exceeding 0.02 million tons. The company has established stable development and supply relationships with five of the top six most valuable battery and electric vehicle clients globally. "The company maintained high shipments in the fourth quarter, with production in the South Korean base significantly increasing month-on-month, improving the client structure. Production line one in Xiantao has basically completed construction and commenced operations."
Yu Jiyun mentioned, "The company's global strategy is steadily advancing, with a large-scale shipment of the first phase of 0.02 million tons/year ternary material capacity from the South Korean factory. Shipment amounts are continuously increasing, and the second phase of 0.04 million tons/year ternary material capacity is undergoing debugging, expected to start production in early 2025. The company is conducting site selection for factories in Europe through investment and merger means, with the first phase of 0.02 million tons/year project construction verification work completed, and cooperation with several internationally renowned battery and vehicle companies is underway, aiming to complete the initial construction before the end of 2025.
