Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Company has had an interesting year for its investment portfolio, reaching a record high in cash reserves, significantly reducing some long-term investments, and making some alternative new bets. Record cash reserves

As of the end of the third quarter, Berkshire's cash reserves surged to a record $325.2 billion, with over 88% ($288 billion) invested in U.S. Treasury bonds.
