UBS Group released a report indicating that the National Press and Publication Administration published the latest batch of game license approvals in December, involving 122 local games and 7 imported games.
The bank views this approval as a continued demonstration of a positive regulatory environment for the Gaming industry, based on more than 100 local game license approvals per month, with an increase in imported game approvals last month and this month, reflecting a relaxation in the regulation of overseas content that is beneficial for Tencent (00700.HK), which has substantial investments and partnerships in overseas copyrights and studios.
The bank also pointed out that Tencent's mobile and PC game "Monster Hunter Outlanders", as well as NTES-S (09999.HK) mobile, PC games, and PS5 platform games "Infinite", have been approved, reflecting good R&D progress for both games, with increased possibility of release next year. This is particularly positive for NTES's "Infinite", as the market originally expected the game to launch in 2026.
