On December 27, 2024, in Guangzhou, By-health Co., Ltd. announced the list of funded projects for the year 2024. After review, a total of 6 projects will receive funding from the Fund, covering research directions such as nutrition and anti-aging, new raw material research and development, dried blood spot metabolomics detection technology, and screening of natural functional ingredients.
The predecessor of the By-health Co., Ltd. Scientific Nutrition Research Fund was the By-health Co., Ltd. Research Fund, established in 2012, aimed at consolidating research efforts and promoting basic and applied research centered on dietary nutritional supplements. To make the Fund more inclusive and diverse, this year the By-health Co., Ltd. Research Fund has been renamed 'By-health Co., Ltd. Scientific Nutrition Research Fund', setting up innovation funds, research funds, and international research funds, to promote scientific research innovation in the field of nutrition and health, technical exchange and cooperation in international frontier directions, and sharing of results, jointly advancing the development of health undertakings.
Among them, the innovation fund focuses on funding young researchers in the field of nutrition and health who have achieved significant academic achievements and recognition from peers in the academic community, and possess innovative development potential and certain social influence. The fund sets different research directions for selective funding, aimed at promoting innovation and breakthroughs in various research fields.
The research fund is mainly aimed at researchers in the broad field of nutrition and health, and each year will set different research directions and formulate specific guidelines based on specific nutritional substances, health issues, and research hotspots, aiming to solve specific nutrition and health challenges.
The International Research Fund aims to build a broader platform for communication and cooperation with foreign researchers, promoting international exchanges in the field of nutrition and health. This year, By-health Co., Ltd. co-launched the "Nutrition MSc by Research Programme" with the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom to fund outstanding nutritional innovation projects.
In May of this year, the By-health Co., Ltd. Scientific Nutrition Research Fund announced its 2024 funding plan, which attracted widespread attention, receiving 124 applications from 87 research institutions across the country. To ensure the fairness and impartiality of the fund's project evaluations, the fund management committee organized three rounds of review, including preliminary review, mail review, and committee review, inviting external authoritative industry experts to participate in the evaluation. The innovative fund's review also includes a video defense stage, allowing applicants to fully present their projects and communicate directly with evaluation experts.
Since 2012, the By-health Co., Ltd. Scientific Nutrition Research Fund has successfully organized fund application and evaluation processes for 13 consecutive years, with funding directions covering multiple research areas such as gut health, precision nutrition, cardiovascular health, and new raw materials. To date, projects funded by the By-health Co., Ltd. Scientific Nutrition Research Fund have achieved fruitful results, with over 50 SCI papers published in internationally renowned journals, multiple invention patents applied for, and more results being published continuously.
