ASML's CEO Christophe Fouquet stated that although China has made certain progress in the chip field, Chinese companies are still 10 to 15 years behind in chip manufacturing capabilities compared to Intel, Taiwan Semiconductor, and Samsung.

He mentioned that although Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation has advanced deep ultraviolet Lithography Equipment, it cannot compete with Taiwan Semiconductor's process technology in terms of cost-effectiveness, mainly because Chinese companies cannot access more advanced extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography tools.
