JD.com Logistics (02618.HK) officially opened its warehouse No. 1 in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday (25th). This is the company's first self-operated overseas warehouse in the Japan-Korea layout, which is expected to provide integrated e-commerce supply chain logistics services for Japanese and Korean enterprises and Chinese brands going overseas.
The warehouse is located in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, capable of storing millions of commodities, and incorporates various advanced Automation Equipment, including hundreds of warehousing robots, sorting robots, and automated production lines, which can improve efficiency by more than 100% compared to traditional manual operation modes.
The warehouse also implements a high-density cargo box-to-person automation solution, adopting a combination mode of high and low robots. This not only makes full use of the upper space of the warehouse but also improves the speed of inbound and outbound deliveries. Compared to traditional goods-to-person automation solutions, storage efficiency can be increased by over 50%, and picking efficiency can be improved by over 35%.
JD.com Logistics also announced that it plans to continue establishing multiple self-operated overseas warehouses in the local area over the next two to three years, building international routes connecting multiple countries, and continuously constructing a '2 to 3 days delivery' service circle in the Asia-Pacific region.
