Cumulative retail sales of passenger NEVs in China so far this year totaled 10.41 million units, up 43 percent from a year earlie
China's retail sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) weakened last week, dragging down the month-to-date performance.
In the December 1-22 period, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 817,000 units, up 60 percent from a year ago and up 4 percent from a month ago, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
For comparison, in the December 1-15 period, the figure stood at 536,000 units, up 71 percent from the same period last year and up 6 percent from the same period last month.
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of China's passenger NEVs totaled 10.41 million units, up 43 percent from the same period last year.
Wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs from December 1-22 were 913,000 units, up 56 percent from a year earlier and up 1 percent from a month earlier, according to the CPCA.
Cumulative wholesale sales of China's passenger NEVs so far this year were 11.63 million units, up 39 percent from a year earlier.
From December 1-22, China's retail sales of all passenger vehicles were 1,692,000 units, up 25 percent compared with the same period last year and up 14 percent from the same period last month.
So far this year, cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China totaled 21.95 million units, up 6 percent year-on-year.
This means that China's NEV penetration at retail stood at 48.28 percent from December 1-22 and 47.44 percent year-to-date.
In the first week of December -- December 1-8 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 62,730, up 32 percent year-on-year and up 11 percent from the same period last month.
In the second week of December -- December 9-15 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 83,024, up 36 percent year-on-year and up 17 percent from the same period last month.
In the third week of December -- December 16-22 -- average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 86,946, up 11 percent year-on-year and up 14 percent from the same period last month.
For December 1-22, China's wholesale sales of all passenger cars were 1.77 million units, up 30 percent year-on-year and up 1 percent from the same period last month.
During December 1-8, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 70,600, up 55 percent year-on-year and up 6 percent from the same period last month.
During December 9-15, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 81,826, up 26 percent year-on-year and up 1 percent from the same period last month.
During December 16-22, China's average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars were 90,364, up 16 percent year-on-year but 2 percent lower than the same period last month.
Cumulative year-to-date wholesale sales of China's passenger cars totaled 25.89 million units, up 7 percent year-on-year.
