On December 24th, Gelonghui reported that on Monday, California announced that Stellantis' FCA US agreed to pay 4.2 million USD to settle the state's investigation into its excessive emissions. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) stated that the vehicles involved in the settlement for violating air quality regulations include the 2014 to 2016 Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500, and 3500 equipped with a 3.0-liter diesel engine. The board mentioned that these vehicles had an unauthorized device that circumvented emission controls, resulting in nearly 55 tons of excess nitrogen oxides being released into the air. Stellantis previously paid 5.6 million USD in a settlement with California in 2022 over similar allegations involving gasoline-powered vehicles.
