On December 21, Glelonghui reported that the five-day dispute case between Arm and Qualcomm concluded with a verdict on December 20, Eastern Time. The jury ruled in favor of Qualcomm on key issues, stating that Qualcomm presented strong evidence to prove that the CPU research and development, including the acquisition of Nuvia patents, complied with its ALA agreement. At the same time, Arm failed to sufficiently demonstrate that Qualcomm breached the ALA agreement with Nuvia. Although the jury leaned towards supporting Qualcomm in its ruling, they have not yet made a determination on whether Nuvia violated its ALA agreement. This means that Qualcomm's use of Nuvia technology for chip research and development complies with the ALA agreement signed with Arm, allowing it to continue selling its self-developed chip products to customers. It is reported that the ALA agreement is one of the two licensing methods offered by Arm, which allows manufacturers to purchase the Arm instruction set for autonomous chip core development, offering more freedom compared to the TLA agreement (another licensing method from Arm). Following the verdict, Qualcomm released an official statement expressing satisfaction with the ruling, stating that all Qualcomm products involved in this case are protected under the contract between Qualcomm and Arm, and that they will continue to develop custom CPUs compatible with Oryon Arm. As of the time of publication, Arm has not released an official statement.
