Rakuten Group Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Rakuten") and Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as "Katsuura City") have today concluded a comprehensive cooperation agreement (hereinafter referred to as "this agreement") in five areas including the promotion of citizens' health and tourism. This agreement is the first comprehensive cooperation agreement between Rakuten and local governments in Chiba Prefecture.

Based on this agreement, Katsuura City and Rakuten will collaborate and cooperate in the following five areas.

■Main contents of the comprehensive cooperation agreement
(1) Matters related to the promotion of citizens' health
(2) Matters related to tourism promotion.
(3) Matters related to the reform of employee work styles.
(4) Matters related to hometown tax donations.
(5) Other matters related to the revitalization of Katsuura City.

Rakuten and Katsuura City have been working together to promote the appeal of Katsuura products in 'Rakuten Hometown Tax Donations' and to encourage reservations and listings of local Lodging facilities in Rakuten's travel booking service 'Rakuten Travel,' aiming for regional economic revitalization. The two parties will strengthen their cooperation through this agreement and work on creating a vibrant city in Katsuura and revitalizing industries by utilizing Rakuten's services and knowledge.

Specifically, to ensure that Katsuura residents can continue to live independently in their familiar Region, a program utilizing the 'Rakuten Senior' service, operated by Rakuten Mobile, will be implemented to promote exercise habits, supporting the extension of citizens' healthy life expectancy. Furthermore, to attract tourists based on Katsuura's representative tourism resource, the morning market, collaboration with Lodging facilities and promotion on 'Rakuten Travel' will take place. Additionally, regarding the work styles of Katsuura City employees, a task force team will be established to mutually cooperate based on the knowledge of Rakuten's internal DX promotion, office environment improvement, and work-life balance promotion, and to explore regional revitalization through the use of hometown tax donations.

Both parties will continue to collaborate for the sustainable development of the local economy and society in Katsuura City.
