On December 19, Gelonghui reported that AMD's Venture Capital division, AMD Ventures, and the hedge fund LuminArx Capital Management led a $0.333 billion financing round for the cloud service provider Vultr, raising the company's valuation to $3.5 billion. Vultr stated that the funds will be used for international expansion. The company currently has 32 datacenter locations, most of which are outside North America. Vultr, founded in 2014, is known as a low-cost virtual server provider, offering GPUs from AMD and its competitor Nvidia.
