JAL has applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for a revision of the applicable amount for the "Fuel Surcharge" (commonly known as the "fuel surcharge") to be implemented from February 2025.
JAL reviews the fuel surcharge amount every two months based on the average fuel market price over the past two months. The average market price for Singapore kerosene for the period from October to November 2024 was 88.60 US dollars per barrel. When this is multiplied by the average exchange rate of 151.57 yen per US dollar during the same period, the Japanese yen equivalent of the Singapore kerosene market price is 13,429 yen, and the fuel surcharge applicable to tickets issued between February and March 2025 will be revised to the amount of Zone H (13,000 yen standard) in the conditions table.
