IDC Consulting published a report on the insights of the augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) market in China for 2025, stating that this year's AR and VR industries have faced numerous difficulties and challenges in a rapidly changing market and economic environment. It is expected that next year, driven by software and hardware innovations, support from AI, and the entry of Terminal Manufacturers into the market, there will be a turning point, with overall shipment volume projected to increase by 114.7% year-on-year. Among them, smart audio glasses combining AI technology are achieving higher public acceptance due to their convenient form and lower entry barriers. IDC predicts the AR market in China will grow by 143.9% year-on-year by 2025, while the shipment volume of integrated AR VR products is expected to increase by 93.9%.
IDC also noted that mobile office is gradually becoming the new norm. It is believed that lightweight computer terminals, such as mini PCs and headless PCs, paired with AR virtual large screens, will meet the needs of mobile office users for performance, portability, and a wide field of view.
