Waymo, a subsidiary of Alphabet (GOOG.US), announced on Monday that it will enter the Japanese market with its Self-Driving Cars.

Waymo published an article stating that the first Waymo all-electric Jaguar I-PACE will land in Tokyo in early 2025. The group’s partner, Japan Transportation (the largest taxi company in Tokyo), will be responsible for managing and servicing Waymo vehicles.

This is Waymo's trial running in a new country. In the USA, Waymo completes more than 0.15 million rides with Self-Driving Cars weekly. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai stated that Waymo will expand to about 10 cities from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Phoenix in 2025.

Pichai also noted that Tesla (TSLA.US) is the leader in the Self-Driving Cars sector. Tesla plans to launch its robot taxi service in the USA by the end of 2025.
