Recently, several well-known entrepreneurs, including Facebook founder Zuckerberg, have been seeking to make contact with Trump.
Cook met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
According to reports, Apple CEO Cook visited Mar-a-Lago in Florida to meet with the elected president of the USA, Trump, and had dinner together on Friday (the 13th). This was their first meeting since Trump won the presidential election in the USA, and Cook became the latest tech giant executive to seek contact with the president-elect.
Although the specific topics discussed by Cook and Trump have not been disclosed, it is expected that they engaged in in-depth discussions about the development of the Technology Industry and potential future collaborations.
According to informed sources, Trump's influence in the Technology Industry and Apple's position as the largest Technology company in the Global market have made this meeting highly关注. Trump may hope to leverage his conversation with Cook to promote more Bullish policies.
It is worth mentioning that on September 10 of this year, the European Court ruled that Apple must pay Ireland back €13 billion in taxes.
Trump will take office in January next year. He stated during his presidential campaign in October that he received a call from Cook expressing concerns about the EU's economic penalties on Apple.
Tech giants are eagerly reaching out to Trump.
Since Trump won the election last November, business leaders have been trying to establish positive relationships with him. This includes the CEO of USA’s AI company OpenAI, Altman, Facebook founder Zuckerberg, and Amazon founder Bezos.
OpenAI CEO Altman confirmed to the media last Friday that he personally plans to donate $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund.
The American e-commerce giant Amazon confirmed last Thursday that it will donate $1 million in Cash to USA President-elect Trump's inauguration fund and will also livestream Trump's inauguration ceremony on its Prime Video service.
Facebook's parent company Meta recently confirmed that it has donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration fund. Last month, Trump dined with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
This is different from Zuckerberg and Meta's past practices. USA federal campaign finance reports show that Zuckerberg has supported congressional candidates from both parties for years and has generally not participated in presidential campaign donation activities. Public records show that Zuckerberg and Meta did not donate to Trump's 2017 inauguration fundraising committee or to Biden's 2021 fundraising committee.
Bank of America, the second largest bank in the USA, also plans to provide donations to Trump's inauguration committee but has not yet decided on the amount.
Executives from major companies in Silicon Valley, USA are building connections with Trump in various ways. In addition to donations, Google CEO Sundar Pichai is set to meet with Trump. The magazine "Time," under Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, has named Trump "Person of the Year," and when discussing the relationship with Trump, he stated, "We are turning a new page."
