The scale of AI supercomputers will reach one million GPUs.
Recently, Musk announced plans to expand xAI's Colossus AI supercomputer from the current 0.1 million GPUs to 1 million, which undoubtedly drew widespread attention in the industry. However, xAI is not the only company with such grand plans.
During Broadcom's Q4 2024 Earnings Reports conference call, President and CEO Hock Tan stated:
“Currently, we have three hyperscale customers who have already established their multi-generation AI XPU roadmap, planning to deploy at different speeds over the next three years. We believe that by 2027, each of them plans to deploy a 1 million XPU cluster on a single architecture.”
Thanks to the strong demand for AI, Broadcom's total revenue and adjusted profit for the fiscal year 2024 both reached an all-time high, especially with AI-related revenue growing by 220% year-on-year for the entire fiscal year.
This performance drove Broadcom's stock price to surge by 24.43% last Friday to $224.8 per share, with the Market Cap surpassing the $1 trillion mark for the first time.
According to reports, $Broadcom (AVGO.US)$ 为包括$Alphabet-A (GOOGL.US)$ 、 $Meta Platforms (META.US)$ 在内的多家科技巨头开发AI、定制数据中心硬件芯片等。
Broadcom expects the serviceable market for AI XPUs and networks to reach $60 billion to $90 billion by 2027, and the company is poised to capture a leading share in this market. However, Analysts point out that the statistical methods for market size are not yet clear, and this year NVIDIA's revenue from sales of GPUs, DPUs, and network Hardware to the AI market is expected to reach about $100 billion.
