This Insider Has Just Sold Shares In OSI Systems

Simply Wall St ·  Dec 15 20:58

Some OSI Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIS) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Chairman, Deepak Chopra, recently sold a substantial US$3.8m worth of stock at a price of US$188 per share. However, that sale only accounted for 4.7% of their holding, so arguably it doesn't say much about their conviction.

OSI Systems Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Executive VP & CFO, Alan Edrick, for US$6.3m worth of shares, at about US$144 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (US$182). When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. However, while insider selling is sometimes discouraging, it's only a weak signal. It is worth noting that this sale was only 13% of Alan Edrick's holding.
